The award-winning children’s publisher Bumble Books is celebrating the release of six new titles with the Buy-One-Donate-One campaign. For every new title purchased, Bumble Books will gift a book to one of its beneficiaries: Shine, Red Cross Children’s Hospital, Nelson Mandela Children’s Hospital, Sisanda Fundaytion, as well as to libraries and schools which are under-resourced. It is a brilliant initiative. This is truly about “giving”. In the pandemic and lockdown, with schools being shuttered, books are vital to provide youngsters with opportunities to read, learn and enjoy becoming immersed in stories. Books are vital for children who are in hospital – especially in the pandemic – with lockdown restrictions and limits on visiting. Never mind the pandemic, many parents cannot afford the transport to get to hospital to visit their offspring. Children can get a lot of comfort from a lovely book.
