For months, we have been hearing that with the pandemic on the boil, it was unlikely that live events would be hosted in Cape Town, until January/Feb 2021. That changed recently, when we moved into lockdown level 1, which allows for 50% seating in venues. Never mind regulations, there is understandably caution when it comes to being in confined, indoor spaces. With summer around the corner and our beautiful city as a setting, gathering outdoors is very inviting.

Excited to hear from Huenu Solsona, director of The Galileo Open Air Cinema, that the cinema has pivoted back to hosting its summer season at venues in the city. First up is the annual Halloween picnic on October 31 – with the creepy film, The Blair Witch Project. Dress up (prizes up for grabs) and have a freaky time but remember to take your mask and keep your physical distance from others. Check back with TheCapeRobyn for news about the season – deets not up yet on the Galileo website.
