“Next! Thank you!…” is a tongue-in-cheek musical revue by Debby Jamieson, with Matthew Reid on sax & keys. Debby takes the audience on a rollercoaster ride of a superstar wannabe from the audition room, through the backstage door and into the spotlight.

About Debby Jamieson

Debby Jamieson is a trained Ballet, Tap, Modern and Spanish dancer; singer, actress and comedienne.  She did a PG Diploma in Acting & Musical Theatre at The Royal Central School of Speech & Drama in London. Productions include: “Into the Woods,” (off West End) “To Die For,” (London Palladium) “Hello Goodbye,” “Hansel & Gretel,” “Little Red Riding Hood,” “Kyknet Fiestas” (Delores from Kalahari), ” ”Rockville” and Stand-up comedy circuit in London and in Joburg (with Jo Parker). 

Her One Woman shows include “A Taste of Bette Midler” (Alexander Upstairs, Off Broadway, Cafe Manhattan, and Intimate Theatre)

She has collaborated with Matthew Reid recently in “Jazz and All That” and “Broadway Baby” at Cafe Roux

About Matthew Reid

Matthew Reid is a clarinettist, saxophonist and pianist. He studied clarinet performance at UCT and Royal College of Music. He was the musical director for Cape Town’s popular annual Yiddish Song Festival in the Baxter Theatre for eleven consecutive years, and founded Playing with Fire in the year 2000, a business which provides musicians for functions. He runs a Balkan band, a Klezmer Gypsy band, a French quartet and a jazz trio. A recitalist and free-lance musician, he has arranged and directed the music for several shows at festivals in the country. 

Matthew arranged the music and played in Aviva Pelham’s production of Santa’s Story, which has given performances all over the world. He runs the Christ Church Concerts series in Constantia which he started seven years ago, providing platforms for local and visiting musicians at monthly concerts.
