Gember Distillery- the maker of the award winning TWO GINGERS gin is presenting Moving the Mountain 2023, on October 7 at Newlands Cricket ground, from 11am- in an attempt to break a World Record for “the most people drinking gin in one place.” This will be an “official audited World Record tasting” event. Artisanal gin company, Gember Distillery, which produces the TWO GINGERS brand, is on a mission to make history by attempting to break a World Record for ‘the most people drinking gin in one place’ at Moving the Mountain – Cape Town’s Record Breaking Music Fest. The event will take place against the iconic backdrop of Table Mountain at Newlands Cricket ground on Saturday, October 7, from 11am and promises to be a stellar day in the Mother City, with the energy soaring until 20h30.
Two Gingers founders, Simon Cranswick and Wynand de Vries believe that history is best made when shared with kindred spirits and invite you; gin enthusiasts, party aficionados and Cape Town’s music-lovers to join them at Moving the Mountain for a day of fun, food and entertainment and more importantly the opportunity to break a World Record.

While the initial focus is on claiming the World Record, the entertainment roster for the festival is nothing short of legendary. Deputy Mayor, Eddie Andrews will officially open the proceedings with the official record auditing process being led by Cape Town’s top spirits’ judge, Leah van Deventer. Your host for the event is Radio 5 DJ, Dan Corder who will be welcoming, on stage, the likes of DJ Gremlin, acclaimed artists Matthew Mole, Spoegwolf, Neon Dreams and Jimmy Nevis, along with Acoustic Element, Amy Jones, Congo Cowboys and Nhoza – a line-up that Cape Town can be truly proud of!

Moving the Mountain is also about giving back and Simon and Wynand have pledged to give a portion of the proceeds to three charities close to their hearts: Wandisa, a specialist child protection and adoption agency based in Sea Point, U_Turn who equip people with skills to overcome homelessness, and TEARS Animal Rescue.
