Karen Nebe is an Ontological Coach, Creative Guide and a Leadership Embodiment Coach & Professional Associate with 19 years of corporate retail, marketing and eventing experience. She moved to Hermanus in June, 2020. It was in Hermanus that she re-convened with nature. Inspired by her surroundings – and the sense of growth, renewal -and hope around her – she put together a self-compassion retreat which is running from December 11-13, 2020 at Temenos, McGregor (177.8km from Cape Town – just over two hours drive – depending on where you are).
Karen Nebe’s tag line is: “Leading with curiosity, courage, creativity and compassion.” That is what she does. After a year of anxiety, loss and uncertainty, we can all do with a re-set of self-care, so we can chart the way forward – to 2021. She cites this wonderful quote “Turn the fatigue of despair into the buoyancy of hope”. ~ Martin Luther King, Jr.
Nebe will be co-hosting the retreat, with Charmaine Horsburgh, a yoga practitioner. The self-compassion retreat package includes all vegetarian meals but drinks are extra. Guided meditation sessions are included and so are materials (art materials etc). In addition, participants get a complimentary coaching session. Charmaine Horsburgh is a yoga practitioner who met her teacher, Swami Venkatesananda of Rishikesh, India in the early 1970’s and began a lifelong journey of yoga study, practice and investigation. The culture of learning which Swamiji encouraged has led her to constantly be looking for ways to deepen and inform her own practice and teaching skills. Charmaine now incorporates the cutting edge postural alignment techniques of the Bowspring into the yoga classes that she offers. It has been her great good fortune to learn from, and keep on learning from, the co-founders of this beneficial system, Desi Springer and John Friend.
