A Video Installation by Louise Coetzer & Oscar O’Ryan
With Darkroom Contemporary
Darkroom Contemporary & Art Bureau Collective invites you to the opening night of an immersive video installation: s h i f t i n g s a n d s //\\ s a n d s s h i f t i n g
The installation will open at the Art Bureau Collective / Act of Brutal Curation in Woodstock on 29 April at 6pm, and is open to the public until 15 May 2021.
s h i f t i n g s a n d s //\\ s a n d s h i f t i n g is a video work drawing connection points between our frequently changing realities, the grasping for ritual in a search for familiarity, and a mirroring of time creeping onwards during this current collective moment of pause.
This walk through video installation invites viewers to experience dance through altered reality (XR) modes of ambisonics and an immersive viewing experience.
At the opening event, members of the public are invited to take in the exhibition and engage with the artistic team involved in the making of the video work. Following this, the exhibition remains open daily until 15 May. On 6 May at 12:30pm and 8 May at 11am Louise Coetzer & Oscar O’Ryan will lead group walkabouts and open discussion sessions about the work.
Darkroom Contemporary Dance Theatre is spearheaded by Louise Coetzer and Oscar O’Ryan. Coetzer, a dancer and choreographer, and O’Ryan, a photographer and filmmaker, bring together expertise from their respective fields to form a dynamic partnership. Together, they reimagine dance through its innovative approach to staging and presenting contemporary works.
