Great news that Flatfoot Dance Company will be performing in the Durban Botanic Gardens – five performances- April 7-11, 2021. The season marks the launch of its sundowner Park Dances and is being tagged asPark Dances #1. The series will be about the dancers igniting with the “natural environment of Durban’s parks as renewed and reimagined spaces to watch dance.” Artistic director Lliane Loots says:  “We are delighted to start off our Park season in collaboration with the Durban Botanic Gardens Trust and to have this opportunity to share this incredibly beautiful living space with audiences.”

This hour-long performance has been collaboratively created by the full company: Sifiso Khumalo, Jabu Siphika, Lliane Loots, Zinhle Nzama, Mthoko Mkhwanazi, Sbonga Ndlovu, Siseko Duba and Ndumiso Dube. “It offers a rich confluence of African rhythms, with classical and contemporary influence and execution.”

This is a family friendly event and patrons are invited to bring blankets and picnics. Arrive early and you can explore the gardens before the show starts at 5pm. There is plenty of secure parking at the main Botanic Gardens Visitors Complex entrance. Covid safety protocols will adhered to and mask wearing is mandatory. There will be 50 demarcated areas to sit and booking is essential and must be sorted in advance as there will not be sales at venue. Tickets R100.
