Detox and chill from the stress of the new year with Aaron McIlroy and Lisa Bobbert and their hit show, Mr & Mrs Normal which will be on in Cape Town at the Masque Theatre, from February 26 to March 1, 2025 (four shows only). Mr & Mrs Normal won a Standard Bank Ovation Award (June 2024) at National Arts Festival, Makhanda and the show has received acclaim and loads of laughter on its tour, post NAF. Billed as an ‘all-you-can-eat comedy buffet’, Mr & Mrs Normal is a zany musical smorgasbord that caters for all theatrical tastes. Interspersed with show stopping musical hits, this laugh-out-loud comedy is directed and choreographed by theatre whizz Daisy Spencer. So you’d best hold onto your seats, as Bobbert and McIlroy plunge right into the vortex of funny turning comedy into an extreme sport.

About Aaron McIlroy
Aaron McIlroy is one of South Africa’s most popular entertainers, with a string of stage blockbusters under his belt in both the public and corporate entertainment circuits. These include, his award winning satires, The Loser co-written and directed by Susan Monteregge, The Golfer co-written and directed by Steven Stead and ADHD, co-written and directed by Patrick Kenny. He stars as the lunatic father, Mr Milton in the Spud movie franchise. As Macbob Productions, he often teams up with his wife and professional partner, actress Lisa Bobbert with their hit musical comedies Family Therapy, Go Big, Bulletproof and Mr & Mrs Normal co-written and directed by Daisy Spencer as well as their popular Marriage for Dummies and Abbamaniacs – their hugely popular tribute to the Swedish super group, Abba.

Much loved award winning actress, Lisa Bobbert has starred in a string of hit musical productions for KickstArt including – Annie; Into The Woods; Cabaret and Little Shop Of Horrors. Lisa’s stage appearances have also included the all-time comedy classic, Shirley Valentine, directed by Steven Stead.
Other credits include writing and co-starring with her husband and professional partner, comedian, Aaron McIlroy in Abbamaniacs, Defending The Planet, Seven Deadly Sins, Marriage For Dummies, Family Therapy, Bloopers, Bulletproof and their latest musical comedy, Mr and Mrs Normal directed by Daisy Spencer.
Other highlights of Lisa’s career include playing Eliza Doolittle in My Fair Lady. Starring alongside friends, Liesl Coppin and Marion Loudon, in the award-winning comedy cabaret, Glitter Girls as well as performing with the Durban City Orchestra in Classical Comedy, directed by Darren King.
