Baroque with a Twist
The big coup for the Cape Town Baroque Festival 2022 is the opening concert, Baroque with a Twist. This concert features the duo of Tim Kliphuis (violin) and Charl du Plessis (piano), in the middle of the duo’s nationwide tour. The concert which is also part of the Cape Town Concert Series, will take place, two days after the pair perform the Kliphuis Triple Concerto with the Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra, as part of the CPO’s Spring Symphony Series.
Programme- Baroque with a Twist
The programme features works by Bach and Vivaldi, mixed with jazz arrangements of Layton and Lewis. Both Kliphuis and Du Plessis are renowned for improvisation and are considered maestros of the cross-over genre. The programme also includes their own compositions.
In Conversation -with the audience
Immediately after the concert, on September 24, Kliphuis and Du Plessis will participate in an informal ‘In Conversation’ with members of the audience. Tickets are at Webtickets and for more information you can visit www.ctconcerts.co.za https://www.webtickets.co.za/v2/Event.aspx?itemid=1486393021
