The sensational Crystal Children’s Choir (CCC), based in San Francisco is touring South Africa in June [2026]. This is the ensemble’s first tour to South Africa and features three concerts – collaborative performances with renowned South African youth and community choirs. The tour is being presented by Classical Movements. Crystal Children’s Choir Embarks on First-Ever Tour to South Africa with Three Collaborative Performances

The internationally acclaimed Crystal Children’s Choir (CCC), based in San Francisco and directed by Karl Chang, will make its highly anticipated debut tour to South Africa this June [2026], marking the ensemble’s first visit to the country. Known for its vibrant tone, cultural versatility, and commitment to musical excellence, CCC will participate in a series of collaborative performances with leading South African youth and community choirs.


This landmark tour celebrates cross-cultural exchange and the unifying power of music, bringing together young voices from across continents in shared performance. The tour includes three major concerts featuring collaborations with distinguished South African ensembles.

A highlight of the tour is CCC’s collaboration with a distinguished group of South African choirs, each bringing unique artistry and tradition. The Meadowlands Chorale represents Johannesburg’s vibrant community music scene, while Cape Town’s Lyrikos Community Youth Choir and Parklands College Choir showcase dynamic youth talent. The tour concludes with the internationally acclaimed South African Youth Choir, known for its exceptional precision and powerful sound. Together, these collaborations highlight the richness and diversity of South Africa’s choral landscape.

Each performance will showcase a diverse repertoire, highlighting both American and South African choral traditions, as well as collaborative selections that reflect shared musical heritage and global unity.

About Dr. Karl Chang, Conductor

Dr. Karl Chang is the co-founder and serves as the president and conductor of Crystal Children’s Choir since 1994. Under his leadership, the choir has received invitations to perform at many National and International choral conventions and was recognized for its outstanding performance of repertoire rich in cultural diversity. Dr. Chang co-conducted the choir at the National and Divisional ACDA (American Choral Directors Association) conferences eight times and presented at the ACDA Interest Sessions. In 2014, Dr. Chang was invited as the Conductor of ACDA National Youth Honor Choir and appeared as a Guest Conductor of Carnegie Hall in 2015. Dr. Chang is also active in the choral field across Asia as a clinician and guest conductor for youth and collegiate choirs.

Dr. Chang founded and conducted Ching Ching Chorus, a renowned 160-voice choir since 1981, and he continues to inspire people and help develop their love for singing. With a Doctor Degree of Education Leadership, he also earned an MBA and an M.S. in engineering. However, his passion and dedication for choral music have led him to pursue his lifelong dream of children’s music education.
