As we approach March 2021, Covid numbers are stable in South Africa and we hope that it stays that way. Never mind the numbers and lockdown levels, it is prudent to take precautions at all times. Outdoor leisure and entertainment options are as about as safe as one can get during these tenuous times. During lockdown, The Galileo Open Air Cinema introduced a drive-in option which has been a hit with patrons – for obvious reasons. It is a fun take on the retro drive-in experience – with contemporary technology and is a buffer to a degree, against the vagaries of Cape Town weather (wind and storms may cancel events). The draw-card is of course that each vehicle is a mini-cinema and the occupants are safe in that bubble. In line with Covid safety protocols, The Galileo Royale is set up with socially/physically distanced seating and includes an hour of live music, eats and signature Galileo comfort accessories – backrests and blankets. The Galileo also has a range of rental options. Host your own open-air cinema or drive in. The Galileo is available for hire. A Galileo bespoke set-up is an ideal Covid friendly solution for pandemic times- great idea for a birthday part of other celebration. The March 2021 programme, includes- Wavescape Film Festival (March 5), Dirty Dancing, Notting Hill and Mamma Mia.
